Two books and a road trip

planning-620299_12802017 hasn’t quite gone to plan so far. The book I started writing in January has gone back on my ‘to write’ pile until my characters play nicely again!

In February I started writing a new book with the working title of A Perfect Disaster. I’m almost halfway through the first draft & aim to finish it in a couple of weeks. It’s a story of meeting in unusual circumstances where first impressions aren’t always what they seem.

And a house move was due as I can’t seem to stay in one place longer than a year! This time the house move involved a different country too – Spain. So with the house packed up & Barney on the back seat of the car we took a road trip across Europe to our new home.

From Lancashire to Folkestone where we spent the night so we could catch the Eurotunnel the next morning. 298 miles.

Day 2

After half an hour on the Eurotunnel we drove across France to spend the night in a quirky hotel not far from Bordeaux. 562 miles.

Day 3 – From France we drove across the border into Spain. Through the beautiful countryside of the Basque region and spent the night just north of Madrid. 399 miles.

Day 4 – We drove around the outskirts of Madrid then through the Toledo region where we took an intentional detour onto a more scenic road 😉 Across the  Castilla la Mancha region to finally reach Andalusia. 428 miles.

In total approximately 1,687 miles. A tiring relocation, but the view made it all worthwhile.
