It’s been a while since my last update, but I’ve been busy on all three books this month.
If you follow me on Facebook, you’ll know that Vision in Love went to my editor last week, which made it an emotional time for me. I was so excited that I had an editor – I sound like a real author – but with that excitement came the nervousness. This was an industry professional reading my debut novel. What if she didn’t like it? What if she thought it was terrible?
These thoughts were spinning around in my head all week, and maybe I got a little obsessive over checking my e-mail! But I received my book back at the weekend and, honestly, I don’t think I could have asked for better comments. Yes, there were parts that needed tweaking, but for my debut novel I’ll take that.
After making those tweaks, it’s now back with my editor, and my thoughts are turning to practicalities. The boring part of books (I know, how can I say that!) such as ISBN numbers, formatting an eBook, and marketing it!
Which is a little scary because I’ve got to that point. The one where I can no longer just sit behind my desk, and play around with the words. I have to put my book out there and release it to the readers. Did I not think of this earlier I hear you asking. Of course I did but now it’s real. Now I’ll be asking people to review my work, and while I hope you’ll all love it, I doubt that will happen. Books are a personal thing, some of you will love it (I hope!) and some won’t even attempt to read it.
Regardless, if I want to be an author (and I really do) I need to publish that book and that means putting myself out there.
The countdown is on to release day.
